I really liked the way this card turned out. It's very simple yet classy. For this project I used the following:
Base: Natural CS, texturized w/ Textured Impressions Vintage Wallpaper
Red Riding Hood CS (3" x 4 1/4")
Black CS (2 3/4" x 4")
Imaged stamped on Natural CS (2 1/2" x 3 3/4")
Stamp sets: Artistic Etchings (SU), Because I care (SU)
Punch: 1 3/4" x 7/8" Oval Large
Ink: Red Riding Hood, Basic Black, StazOn Blk
Embossing Powder: Clear. The Eiffel Tower was stamped using StazOn Black then Clear embossing Powder was added then heated with Heating Tool. The image is raised a bit with a smooth surface.
I will add the others tomorrow! Have a great day!

Is it almost September, already???

Seriously, where has the time gone? It seems like Summer just started the other day and look, here we are almost starting September. We had a slow busy summer, if that makes sense. I'm not exactly sure what we did but we were busy doing it.

My craft room got somewhat of a "make-over" or for better words a "de-cluttering." I should have done it a very long time ago. It's much easier to find stuff now.....imagine that!

Our oldest son has started Kindergarten this past week and our youngest goes back to PreK in about 2 weeks. I love my boys but I am definately looking forward to some Quiet Time at home. My hubby took the boys to the park this past weekend and gave me a couple hours of Quiet Time. It was sooooo nice! I spent the time making cards in the craft room. It was so nice to actually finish something that I started. Yea, that never happens. Those of you with kids can totally understand that!

I made a few different cards with some of my New Stampin' Up supplies. I was so excited to actaully get to use my new stuff. The "norm" is.....I order SU stuff, it arrives and it sits in my craft room for about a month before I actually get a free moment to use it. It's like waiting a month after Christmas to open your Christmas gift. Torture....really, it is for us papercrafters. This time I had to wait 4 days to play with my new stuff. So, you can just guess how excited I was!

OK....onto the Stampin' Up business stuff. The Holiday Mini starts on Wed., Sept.1st, 2010. There are so many great things in this Catalog. I wish I could order them all. The catalog runs from September 1, 2010 to January 3, 2011. There are New Designer Fabrics that match the Designer Series Paper...plus, Big Designer Buttons to match. Wayyyyy too cute, let me tell ya! I will update my blog, on Sept.1st, with the link to the Holiday Mini. You are going to Love it!

Bye for now. I will post some pics of the cards I made this weekend in a bit! Have a wonderful rest of the day!

Stampin' Up Convention

I am so excited about going to the Stampin' Up Convention this year!! It will take place in Salt Lake City,Utah. Anyone ever been to Salt Lake before??? My upline (Alicia), and friend, will be flying out and staying together. It is going to be a BLAST! So, I will be out of reach July 21-24th.

I have something to share.....Alicia made this amazing "Convention" booklet for me. I absolutely LOVE it! It is so cute! She filled it with tons of information regarding the Convention. This is my first SU Convention, so I was not really sure what to expect or what to bring. Well, not anymore. Alicia has laid it all out for me. What a Great Friend! Thnx, Alicia!

Some Projects!

Hey there,

OK....I'm here...I really am. It's just amazing how busy life can be or I should say how busy I let life keep me. :0)

I have been doing a little bit of papercrafting, here and there, I just don't post everthing. But...I have a few recent items I would like to share with ya. This one is a little note pad of paper I made. I took several sheets of the Whisper White CS and cut them down to size ( I made 4 sheets out of 1 piece of 8 1/2 x 11 CS). Each piece of paper, on this pad, has the stamped image at the top. Here are the items I used for this one:

CS: Naturals Ivory, Soft Suede (SU)
DSP: Sweet Pea Paper Stack (SU)
Ink: Soft Suede,Pretty in Pink (SU)
Linen thread (SU)
Stamps: Vintage Vogue, Picture This (SU)
Punches: SU

Here is a card I made. Great for a Graduation Card.
I got the idea for these 2 cards from the SU Occasions Mini Catalog (Jan-Apr.). They are 3x3 note cards. One sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 will make the base for 3 of thes cards. Pretty cool.

I bought the mailboxes (undecorated) at Target. I got them in the dollar bin (yup, only $1) around Valentine's Day. I stocked up on them with the intention of saving them for a future project. I am going fill them with Chocolate pieces and a gift card and give them to my boys teachers. I hope they like them. I also made a coordinating 3x3 card to go with them.

I hope you all have a wonderful long weekend!
I will get back with ya soon for an update on the New things going on with SU and the new Colors they are bringing in.

Stampin' Pastels

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. We for sure needed the little bit of rain we got this weekend. We pretty much stayed at home this weekend so our youngest child could recover from having a cold. Since we stayed home, I got some craft time in. This past Saturday I held my monthly Technique class. This month's class was "Stampin' Pastels." I really like this technique. It's easy to use and it produces a soft and beautiful look.

All you need to produce this look is a Versamark Pad and some Stampin' Pastels.

We made 2 cards, using Stampin' Pastels, and one treat box using basic stamping.

For the Medallion card, we used the following supplies:
Stamp: Medallion* and Whimsical Words**
CS: Very Vanilla, Mellow Moss, So Saffron
Ink: Mellow Moss (for sentiment)
Chalk: Mellow Moss, So Saffron
Extras: Glue dot to adhere Pearl (from Pretties kit)
*Medallion stamp is from Idea Book and Catalog (pg.133, $17.95)
**Whimsical Words stamp from Sale-a-bration booklet (pg.8)and can be earned through promotion which ends March 31,2010

This card was simple yet let's the receiver know how you feel. We only used 2 colors, other than the Whisper White CS. It's hard to see in the photo but the strip of Chocolate Chip CS had been embossed with little dots using the Big Shot and a Texturz Plate.
Stamp:For all you do (flower)*, Whimsical Words**
CS: Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Almost Amathyst
Ink: Almost Amathyst, Chocolate Chip
Chalk: Almost Amathyst
Punch: Wide Oval
Extras:Rhinestone Brad
* For all you do stamp set is from Idea Book and Catalog (pg.118, $28.95)
**Whimsical Words from Sale-a-bration booklet (pg.8)and can be earned through Sale-a-bration promotion which ends March 31,2010.

This little Treat Bag Cover is so cute! It can store a gift card, which is what I have inside this one, or you can fill the little bag with a few little Chocolate pieces. It's hard to see from the photo but the Circles are all textured using my Big Shot and Texturz plates. This project is also very versatile. Especially if you have the Whimsical words set which has multiple sentiments.
Stamp: Whimsical Words
CS: Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo,Old Olive
Ink: Melon Mambo, Old Olive
Punch:Scallop Trim Border*
Extras: 1/2" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon in Pumpkin Pie,Texturz Plates using Big Shot
*Scallop Trim Border Punch (pg.9) is from the Sale-a-bration booklet and can be earned throught promotion which runs till March 31,2010.

Have a great day and enjoy Stampin'!
Reminder: Next Month's class is Heat Embossing and Emboss Resist. It's on Saturday, March 20th, 2010. Click HERE to see more info.
